Branches

  • Does your tree have dead branches?
  • Does your tree need to be pruned?
  • Are the branches scraping the house?
  • Are the branches overhanging your neighbor's property?
  • Have your tree's branches been damaged by a storm?

Pruning
Many problems with branches can be easily solved by having your trees pruned. As your trees grow, they need to be cared for, with pruning to remove deadwood and train limbs for good future growth. Although pruning enhances the appearance of your trees, its importance is much greater than just cosmetic. Proper pruning can help your trees withstand storms without damage, keep them clear of your home or other structures and prevent dangerous limb drop.

Cabling & Bracing
Some branch problems require more than just pruning. For severe branch splits or other problems that require the loss of a major branch, our arborists may recommend cabling or branches to support the structure of the tree. Cables generally consist of high-strength steel and are attached to bolts installed in the upper crown of a tree. They limit the movement of the supported branches so they are less likely to fail during storms. Braces are thread rods that are installed through unions of weak branches and multiple stems to provide more rigid support from the twisting that can occur in violent weather.

Our certified arborists have specialized training and equipment in the proper pruning and support of even the largest and most stately of trees.
