Roots
- Do you see roots wrapping around the base of your tree?
- Does your tree's trunk go straight into the ground, with no flare?
Too many trees are planted too deep. You should be able to just see the trunk flare, the point where the roots spread at the base of the tree. When trees are planted too deep, the roots can grow strangely, eventually girdling the underground trunk like a noose. This slows the tree's growth, reduces its vigor and can cause premature death from below-ground trunk rot and root suffocation.
Our certified arborists can spot these root problems and propose solutions such as mulching, root pruning, growth regulators and specialized supersonic air tools to preserve your trees' health.
